CyberBuffalo’s Halloween 2024 Totally Cyber Movie List

I’ve been putting the X-Files on at night as well as in the background as I’ve been doing work around the house. It’s the perfect halloween time show. It has a great soundtrack of the blended pianos and strings and it always looks like its fall out no matter what time of year they are in.

Season 5, Episode 11, titled “Kill Switch” it’s one of the best episodes in general, but it also deals with body horror and cyber punk themes. Watching this reminded me that on my old cyberbuffalo site (rip) I had written a pretty good cyber horror list for thematic halloween viewing but since I kept no back-ups of that, its gone gone gone. I tore back through a discord that I spend most of my online chatting time, thinking I would have shared it and while I did, we didn’t list out each entry. Here’s what I know & remember about that list:

• It has 15 entries
• I wrote that it was a tech-focused list for the spooky season
• I “realized that horror peaked in the year 2000”
• Brainscan was one of the movies.
• Hardware was also there.

If you are browsing the internet looking for a cool list of movies to watch because you’re currently hunkered down, nose to a soldering iron while being soothed by the soft whir of your 3d-printer behind you, these few are a good start. I think you could also add on CHOPPING MALL which is about a killer security system in a mall, its fun and gory.

This won’t be the last time I throw some media recommendations out there, though. Maybe I’ll even get some friends in on it hint hint nudge nudge.
